Nicolas Minassian and Pedro Lamy took second place in Atlanta, as the race is stopped after just under 5 hours, sister car driven by Stéphane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny took the victory. After several days of searing heat, the Georgian weather took a turn for the worse today. Nicolas Minassian was delighted to take Pole Position in Road Atlanta, separated from the sister Peugeot by just two tenths of a second giving the team a deserved one-two ahead of the Audi's.

Having finished second in last year's Petit Le Mans, Nicolas Minassian returns with Peugeot to race for victory. Last year Peugeot entered just one 908HDi FAP into Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. That car driven by Minassian and Stéphane Sarrazin finished second, just 4.512 seconds behind the winning Audi. This year Peugeot are sending two machines in preparation already for the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours following their one-two finish earlier this year.

Today saw Peugeot secure its first victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours with the diesel-powered 908 HDi FAP which contested the French endurance classic for the first time two years ago in 2007. This afternoon's result also takes the firm's Le Mans score to three wins following its previous triumphs in 1992 and 1993. This evening's thrilling qualifying session saw Team Peugeot Total's Stéphane Sarrazin put the N°8 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP (Sarrazin/Montagny/Bourdais) at the sharp end of the grid for the Le Mans 24 Hours for the third year in a row as Nicolas Minassian qualified the sister N°7 machine third as he focused on race setup.

| Minassian teams up with Gene and Villeneuve once again |
Team Peugeot Total has profited from its traditional press conference prior to the start of the 2008 Le Mans Series at Barcelona to specify its driver line-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours. It also announced the recruitment of a third driver for each of the two 908 HDi FAPs that will contest next May’s LMS round at Spa-Francorchamps.
